We’ve all heard people say, “it’s for your own good,” and as much as we resented it then, many have conceded that it was probably the best course of action at the time. But when does “for your own good” turn destructive? Dan Fang discusses the criticisms that the Oankali bring to the human race in Dawn, as well as contributing to the debate of human choice, and whether or not taking away that choice is really “for our own good.”
